Gordon West Public School Library -
Developing Learners for Life

The Gordon West Public School Library is a special place integral to teaching
and learning for our school community. The library provides a program that
includes both literary skills and information literacy skills. The Teacher
Librarian collaboratively works with teachers to develop meaningful learning tasks and
tailor student research programs. Educational research concludes that collaborative teaching between teacher librarians and classroom teachers enhances student learning in all stages.
Students have regular opportunities to access fiction and non- fiction material
from our extensive resource collection for research and recreational purposes.
The Gordon West Public School library was purpose-built to promote the various learning styles of our students. It has multiple large learning areas to engage students in group or independent activities.
Our library is resourced with 32 computers for student use, 3 enquiry terminals and an interactive whiteboard. The Library hosts varied events throughout the year including guest speakers, storytellers, performances, displays and exhibitions.
Please visit our library and enjoy with us, our love of literature and learning.
